NewPlateDiary 2.0 is here

Snap the table.Keep the whole night.

PlateDiary is a food memory app for eating out. One photo cuts every dish into a save, right on your phone — then keeps it by place, by night, and by who was across the table.

Free on iPhone and Android

02Three seconds

Snap, keep, done. That's the whole thing.

On-device machine learning lifts each dish and drink out of the photo — no tracing, no typing. Names, stars and notes can wait. Forever, if you like.

03The board

Every table you've kept, on one board.

Your newest moment sits on top, with your saves laid out the way the table looked. Can't decide where to go? The craving wheel is one tap away.

04New in 2.0

Five ways to look back. One swipe between them.

Moments, a month calendar with a dot for every day out, a list, Places and Companions. Slide along the switch and the board folds itself into each one — try dragging it.

05A moment

Saves become moments, on their own.

Snap a few dishes over a long dinner and they land together — same place, about ninety minutes. Come back another night and the moment remembers your last time here.

06Play

Then play with your food. Really.

Every moment is a little table of toys. Choose Tumble, Float, Water, or Magnet — each on its own tablecloth, drawn in your colors — then grab a save in the phone and toss it across the table.

07Remember

So you remember what you ate.

Give it a name in your own hand, a few stars, a note about who stole half. Tags and collections find it later, and PlateDiary counts every time you've had it. Skip any of it — every save is happy as it is.

08New · Places

Every place you've eaten, and your usual there.

Search by place or by dish, then open any spot for your usual, your menu there, every visit and who you usually go with. The full map is one tap away.

Free for everyone

09New · Companions

The people at your table.

A round table of the ones you share the most meals with. Open anyone to see where it started, your usual together, your spots — and every time you shared a table. Give them a face, too.

10New · Prices

What the table came to.

Add a price to any save or the bill to a moment — or scan the receipt and let PlateDiary fill it in, right on your phone, in your own currency. Never add one and nothing changes.

Your priciest saves and worth-it picks come with PlateDiary Premium.

11New · You

A You page with food on it.

Your numbers come with a pile of your newest saves — tap it to deal again. A memory brings back something you ate a year ago, you'll see when you tend to eat out, and your very first save is always there to find.

12Share Studio

Make the moment yours, then share it.

Turn a moment into a picture or a looping video. Arrange your saves; add words, drawings, and animated GIFs; deal keepsakes made from the night itself — a ticket, a postmark, a rosette for your third time at a dish. Start from a template, or let it surprise you.

Share Studio is part of PlateDiary Premium. Simple sharing is free.

13The Look & feel studio

Make the whole room yours.

A Look is a whole room of color and type. Tap one — this page will wear it too. Then give your diary a name of its own; type it in the phone.

Anyone can try every Look on. PlateDiary Premium keeps it.

14New · Widgets

Your table, right on your Home Screen.

Memory Lane brings back what you ate a year ago today. Craving Shuffle deals a dish when you can't decide. Save Wall piles up your saves. And Quick Snap opens the camera straight from your Lock Screen.

Quick Snap is free for everyone; the rest come with PlateDiary Premium. Android gets Table Window.

15Yours

Your food-memory library stays on your phone.

  • Photos, saves, notes, tags, companions, and places remain on your device
  • Capture, cutouts and browsing work with zero bars
  • New: backups can keep a copy in your own iCloud Drive or a Google Drive file you pick
  • Limited usage and crash diagnostics help improve PlateDiary
  • Purchases and optional GIF search use their named providers
  • No PlateDiary account, ads, or selling your personal data

16PlateDiary Premium

Capture, your board, Places, Companions, the map, simple sharing, backups, and the Quick Snap widget stay free. PlateDiary Premium makes room for the creative extras:

?Before you order

Before you snap the first table.

Is PlateDiary a diet app?

No. There's no counting, no numbers to hit, no pressure — just the table, kept the way you remember it. Memory, not measurement.

How do dishes turn into saves on their own?

On-device machine learning finds each dish and drink in your photo and cuts it out automatically — no tracing, no tapping around plates. It happens right on your phone, in about a second.

Do I need an account?

No sign-in is required, and your food-memory library stays on your phone. Limited technical services and optional online features — such as GIF search and purchase verification — connect only for those jobs. The privacy policy explains each one.

Can I add photos I already took?

Yes. Bring photos in from your library and they cut into saves the same way a fresh snap does.

What if I skip naming or rating a dish?

Nothing is required. Every save starts as "other" and is happy to stay that way — add a name, a star, or a companion only when you feel like it.

Is PlateDiary on Android?

Yes — PlateDiary is on both iPhone and Android, and it's free to download on either. On Android, the Home Screen widget is Table Window; the other 2.0 widgets are iPhone-only for now.
